MARYLAND
Two small sailing ships, the ARK and the DOVE left England to establish the colony of Maryland on the North American coast. A Jesuit priest, FR. ANDREW WHITE was among the passengers. After landing in Jamestown, Virginia they set sail on the Chesapeake Bay bound for Maryland. They arrived at St. Clement's Island on March 25, 1634 (Maryland Day) The CRAB, FISH and DUCK can all be found in the Bay, where our parish North Beach, is located. The original ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH was built in 1906.
